Lower School News
Weekly Eagle News - Lower School
Lower School Families,
All of our students were able to attend their STEAM class in the new Student Enrichment Center last week. It was fun to see all of their excitement as they walked into the room for the first time. The Student Enrichment Center also includes office space for our Math Coach and Interventionist, Mrs. Mulder. Mrs. Mulder’s position is new for the 23-24 school year and we are already seeing the impact of having a specialist in Math supporting our teachers and students.
Pop Open A Good Book
This week the 23-24 Pop Open a Good Book reading contest will officially begin. All LS students are encouraged to participate as we work toward our goal of 427,000 minutes read. More details about Pop Open a Good Book and how to log your student’s minutes can be found HERE.
Lower School Book Fair
To help kick off our month of reading, the Lower School Book Fair will also take place this week from Monday 10/2 - Thursday 10/5. On Monday, students and parents can shop from 2:45-4:00 PM. Tuesday through Thursday, the book fair is open from 8:00 - 9:00 AM for parents only, during morning breaks and Lunch/Recess for students only, and from 2:45 - 4:00 PM for parents and students.
School Pictures & Makeup Picture Day
If you ordered school pictures for your student, picture packets were delivered to homeroom teachers last week to be sent home. If you have not yet received an expected picture packet or if there are any issues with your delivered packet, please contact Mrs. Camacho or Mrs. Wagner. If your student missed the original picture day or needs to retake pictures, makeup day will be on Wednesday 10/4. Order forms for makeup day can be picked up in the front office. If your student will be participating in make-up pictures, please let your student’s homeroom teacher know. All students must have a picture taken for school files and the yearbook, even if a parent does not plan to purchase pictures.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Please mark your calendars for Parent/Teacher Conferences Wednesday 10/25 - Friday 10/27. All three of these days will run a Minimum Day schedule with K-2 yellow carpool tag dismissal beginning at 12:00 PM and 3-5 green tag dismissal beginning at 12:15 PM.
