Weekly Eagle News – Upper School
Dear ACA Family,
Retreat Day… Fine Arts Achievements… Mission Trips… InterSession – so many great things to report on and pray for this week!
I love seeing our students worship together. Thursday’s Retreat Day was a special time for many reasons, but to see our student community join together in worshiping our great God was encouraging at so many levels. We were blessed and challenged throughout the day, and I am grateful that God was moving in the hearts of many students through the experience. I pray, and I hope you will join me, that some of the great takeaways from the day will stick with our kids for a long time.
Our fine arts department featured a couple more great highlights this week. On Wednesday, Rachel Rogstad and Leia McClung had the privilege to participate as winners in “The Show Must Go On” monologue festival in Pasadena. They were selected from a group of nearly 80 submissions, and their performances on Wednesday were part of the showcase. Well done, ladies! And on Friday, our Wind Ensemble competed in the SCSBOA Bonita Festival and received a unanimous “Excellent” rating. So proud of our students for all their hard work.
On Friday night, we prayed a blessing over our mission teams traveling to Panama and Dominican Republic, and then we did the same on Sunday for our team going to Mexico. Would you join me in praying for the 37 students, 5 staff and 1 parent going on these trips? I look forward to sharing more with you from their experiences, fully expecting God to do some amazing things!
InterSession starts Monday! I am very excited for the many opportunities our students will have this week to grow, whether spiritually, physically, academically or socially. Thank you for your part in making this week happen, and I ask you to join me in praying for our students through these experiences.
Finally, Career Day… If you are interested in helping us by presenting your career to a group of students, please let me know! Career Day this year is Wednesday, April 19, in the afternoon (about 1 to 2:45). If you are available and interested, I would love to hear from you.
