At RCS Preschool, we use a fun and engaging approach to help children build strong early reading and language skills. We include Zoo-phonics, a hands-on program that helps children learn letter sounds by connecting each letter to an animal and a movement. This makes learning active, memorable, and enjoyable while building important early reading and spelling skills.
We also use Heggerty Phonemic Awareness to help children practice listening to and working with the sounds in words. These activities strengthen the listening skills children need to become confident readers and writers.
In addition, we incorporate Bible lessons into our daily routine. Biblical values and teachings are thoughtfully woven throughout the day in our lessons, activities, and interactions, helping children grow in kindness, character, and understanding of God’s love.
We also pull from a variety of trusted, research-based resources to meet the unique needs of our students. By blending different approaches, we are able to support each child’s learning style and help them grow in confidence, creativity, and school readiness.
